Happy New Year: a New beginning in 2016

Good morning!
As we turn out the lights on 2015, I'm looking forward to next year.
I'm planning to attend the George Lindsey Film Festival in March at Huntsville, Ala. if one or both of my screenplays make the cutting room.
Haven't checked the full calendar for spring or summer film festivals, but I could make my way at one if I enter a script.
I've all but left the book world and will fully focus on entering the long, tedious journey to becoming a screenwriter. My screenwriting name will be JK Jones, not KT Bishop in the literary world.
From what I've heard, it takes a decade to find success as a screenwriter unless you get a big break.  (Hoping to land somewhere in between).
Here's to a Happy New Year and have a great 2016.

A decade is not that much in the total scheme of things for you to become successful as a screenwriter. It'll fly by. And in the meantime you'll be honing your craft and getting better and better at it. I'm looking forward to seeing your name on your movie's crawl. Here's to much luck and success in 2016.

I considered applying for a Master's Degree in screenwriting, but that doesn't guarantee success. I'll take my chances this way.

Still plan on having a book signing in the spring or summer.

Whatever you do, I'm always behind you.

Thank you, Sandy!
Just saw an interview with Sylvester Stallone on things fell in place for Rocky. He rewrote it several times until it got accepted by a studio.
Also, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon held out after writing Good Will Hunting until it was done their way.
I'm not in the class of those folks, but hoping to get a break someday.
